SPOLANA as (Spolana) one of the leading chemical companies in the Czech industry was established on 1 May 1992 transformation of state-owned enterprise with registered capital of 4.329 billion CZK. Company headquarters are Neratovice, 25 km north of Prague on the Elbe River. The complex covers an area of 260 hectares. The company currently employs nearly 800 employees. From late 2001 to November 2006 were included Spolana holding Unipetrol Group, which in May 2005 became part of the Polish PKN ORLEN. In November 2006 UNIPETROL sold his shares in the Polish company Spolana Zak?ady Azotowe ANWIL SA (since 15 January 2010, the company has a trade name ANWIL Spó?ka Akcyjna ), which is also part of the PKN ORLEN.
